Top scenic Drives in Wisconsin

There are many beautiful scenic drives in Wisconsin to enjoy in the summer months. Look some of these up on maps and make plans for the future.

Barron County offers old railroad lines through historic logging areas to explore as well as the Ice Age National Scenic Trail.

Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive encompasses six counties and 50,000 acres with the northern end at Elkhart Lake in Sheboygan County and the southern end at Whitewater Lake in Walworth County. Lots of spots for picnicking, hiking and fishing available.

Door County Coastal Byway starts north of Sturgeon Bay and follows State Highway 57 north around the Peninsula. It eventually meets State Highway 42 to loop back to the starting point and travels through some beautiful country.

The Driftless Area includes forests and farmland with some stunning limestone bluffs and river land.

Sawyer County encompasses Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest and is a great place to see fall color.

Wisconsin’s Great River Road follows the Mississippi for about 250 miles. There is plenty here for history buffs, too.

Lake Superior Byway follows the southern shoreline of Lake Superior and explores 70 miles of northern wilderness including the Gaylord Nelson Wilderness Area. Beautiful sandy beaches, sparkling water and pine forests surround Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.
